First off, sorry about the new ads from Google. I did my best to configure only non-invasive ads into this blog but this is still new to me so I may have made a mistake in the settings. If you see any invasive ads that redirect or cover your screen and you can’t click off of them, please contact me immediately and I’ll get to fixing it ASAP. Money is beyond tight and I’m not selling enough prints and 3D content to make due anymore. I had to do something to bring in a little extra money so that’s why there are ads. I’ll understand if you want to use an adblocker (I do) but hopefully there will be enough people who won’t use one so that I can at least make enough money to renew this website when the time comes. I may have to add ads to Dream 9 Studios but I haven’t decided yet. (Or you could help out by joining my Patreon which has tiers that start at just $1!)
I’m still feeling somewhat depressed and very anxious/stressed but I’m trying to work through it all. I want to focus on working on new artworks but it’s been tough going so far. I got so fed up with my Poser program the other day that I downloaded and installed Daz Studio! I opened it up and stared at the interface for about five minutes, couldn’t think what to do or where to start, then exited the program and went back to Poser. I’ll learn it one of these days, probably. For now though, I’m going back to the familiar and that means more art in just Poser for now. I do have it on my to do list to learn DS eventually. I’m hoping the next iteration of Poser will have support for the current Daz figures or even Iray but that’s unlikely.
I have created two new artworks in the past week or so. The first that I created November 25 is simply called “Darth Vader”. It was rendered fully in Poser then I kept running it through Photoshop again and again using various filters and techniques until I finally ended up with what you see here. You can also see it on my official art website, Dream 9 Studios. I will probably be making some more Star Wars fan art as I downloaded several Star Wars themed outfits from Forender including Stormtroopers, this Darth Vader, Rey’s The Force Awakens outfit, and Kylo Ren. I hope to get that X-Wing Pilot uniform the moment it goes on sale, whenever that will be. (I can’t afford full price!!!) I want to get that Yoda as well and maybe the other Rey outfit but I ran out of money for this Black Friday weekend which really, really sucks. I need to revamp and retry with Patreon because I am in desperate need of more patrons! This reminds me that I also need to get to work on some Mass Effect fan art too.
The other artwork is one that I finished November 27 entitled “Never Alone” which is an original and far more personal artwork. I’ve had the idea in my head for “Never Alone” since 2009 but only now did I finally get it out right. At least I think I finally have it right, who knows. I may redux it one day later on when I no longer think it’s good enough. That happens a lot with my old work. Again, you can also see this artwork on my official site and buy prints from there too at Dream 9 Studios.
I’ve also been writing down more ideas in my “notebook of ideas” for future artworks. I now have about 22 pages of ideas printed out just for 2018. I still have ideas that haven’t been tapped from 2017, 2016, and 2015! Hard to believe but soon I’ll be starting on my 2019 artwork ideas! I have an artwork rendering right now called “Butterfleyes” and I did start on a new scene last night but only time will tell if either will ever be finished and see the light of day. I have to get out for a therapist appointment today but I’ll get right back to work on my art as soon as I get back home. I’m hoping that “Butterfleyes” will finish rendering here in a few minutes (I started it rendering before I went to bed last night) and I’ll be able to continue that other new scene I started on last night before I have to leave today. One thing is certain, I’m going to need more coffee!
In other news, I let the domain for my Shelby Bly Project website expire. It was just a temp name anyway and I don’t have the money to renew it. I also haven’t worked on that project in several months and it’s looking more and more like I never will again. I know, never say never, but I also have to be realistic about the fact that I’ve lost my motivation for it. Maybe one day I’ll pick up on the project again. I hope so. Since the website was linked to that domain name and I couldn’t figure out how to unlink it, I had to delete the SBP website as well. I’ll rebuild the website if and when I decided to restart the project. I’ll also backup all my writing files to my external hard disk as well just to be safe.
That’s all for now. I have a lot of work to do and so I need more coffee!!
